Their monstrous moniker may have been removed but the monster within remains, if Heck’s nuts new track ‘Breakers’ is anything to go by. Have a listen below.

According to the band, the song covers some pretty emotionally-turbulent subject matter.

“Some things are better left at peace,” explains singer/guitarist Matt Reynolds. “When posed with a second chance we are teased by the inherent futility of it all. The underlying trust issues never leave and the all-consuming paranoia perpetually pulls each part of the relationship back to the place it wants to be. This often results in the repetition of a well familiar argument, one so recognisable that you can often stand back and allow your partner to argue with their self. It would be easy at this point to become apathetic and to let yourself be carried along without the need to feel anymore. The decisions can be made for you and you never have to work up the energy to disagree. In reality these problems mean nothing at all. Better to just break the whole thing apart yourself before this all goes too far. Break it apart brutally and gruesomely before your personality leaves you for good.”

‘The Breakers’ is released digitally on 30th October, by which time Heck will be well into their UK tour. Catch them at the dates below. Leave your breakables at home.
