Donald Trump has shared concerns about Joe Biden’s “cognitive impairment” in a speech where he confused the president with Barack Obama before mistakenly warning of the outbreak of World War II.
The Republican was in Washington DC as his campaign to run against Biden again in 2024 heated up.
At 77 years old, Trump is only three and a half years younger than Biden but claims to be sharper in his decision-making skills.
He has made several references to the president’s cognitive ability during recent rallies, but this speech is unlikely to instil confidence that he is in any better shape.
“He’s the worst and most corrupt president in the history of our country who is cognitively impaired and in no condition to lead,” Trump told the audience at the Pray, Vote, Stand Summit in the nation’s capital on Friday night.
“He’s now in charge with dealing with Russia and possible nuclear war … just think of it, we would be in World War II.”
It is assumed that Mr Trump, who enjoyed close relations with Russian president Vladimir Putin and claims that he would end the Ukraine war within 24 hours of beginning a second term, meant to say World War III.
Needless to say, the reaction was quick to flood in on social media.
