These images show a Lexus RCF GT3 that exploded into flames at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2018 as it re-entered the pit.

Fortunately, driver Scott Pruett managed to escape out of the Lexus uninjured as fire brigade, pit technicians and stewards tackled the blaze.

The cause of the fire is as yet unknown.

The Lexus RC F GT3 is powered by a 5.4-litre V8 engine with six-speed sequential racing transmission. To keep the weight of the car down to a light 1,300kg, much of the high performance souped-up car is made from carbon fibre including engine air-box and dashboard, bonnet, bumpers, rear spoiler, roof, door panels.
