A West Brom fan has applied for the vacant manager’s job, after the departure of Alan Pardew. The club are rock bottom of the Premier League and premier league survival is looking tricky. Step forward 33-year-old James Whitley to save the day.

Pardew, 56, was appointed on 29 November after the Baggies sacked Tony Pulis following a run of 10 Premier League games without a victory.

Now bottom of the table, a 2-1 home defeat by Burnley on Saturday left them 10 points from safety with six games remaining. Former defender turned coach Darren Moore will oversee the Baggies’ remaining six league fixtures

James Whitley appears to think he is the saviour of the club, has formally contacted the West Brom board, and thrown his hat in the ring.
