Brazil 1 – Germany 7. Let that sink in for a moment.

As far as World Cup semi finals go, last night’s demolition of Brazil by Germany will go down in the history books as being one of the most shocking results of all time. In under half an hour Germany were five goals to the good with a depleted Brazilian team looking abject and in complete disbelief. The host country’s fortunes had turned in an instance, going from national hysteria to shell shocked misery.

The match itself was thoroughly entertaining and, even for those who are abstaining from World Cup activity, well worth another watch. But equally as entertaining was Twitter’s reaction to it all.
