Nigel Farage is set to jet off to Washington DC next week after openly saying he plans on spending less time in Westminster following his re-election as Clacton MP.
On Tuesday, Farage was sworn in as the MP for Clacton for a second time following his by-election victory over Count Binface last month.
But if the people of Clacton naively thought Farage would spend a bit more time representing them in the House of Commons, they were very much mistaken.

Speaking to GB News, the Reform UK leader said he planned on spending LESS time in the Commons than he did during his first stint as Clacton MP.
Farage said Richard Tice and other Reform MPs would do “more of the work” in Parliament whilst he travels around the country.
But it seems Farage’s first priority is to indulge in one of his favourite past times – jetting across the Atlantic to the U.S.
Journalist Rob Crilly wrote on X that the Clacton MP will “be in Washington DC next week for a party marking the anniversary of GB News’ launch here.”
There is some comfort for the Clacton constituents though, as Farage said he would make the area “even more of a focus in some ways than it was,” because he had made “even more personal connections” during his by-election campaigning.
Although, let’s be honest, it would be difficult for Farage to give the constituency less focus given how little time he seemed to spend in the place after first becoming its MP.
