The Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has again defended a series of attack ads which have been seen as a racist attack against Rishi Sunak.

A Labour attack ad targeted at Rishi Sunak is not racist, according to Sir Keir Starmer.

Recent advertisements that have targeted the prime minister Rishi Sunak specifically have been criticised as “gutter politics” and labelled as such by some of Labour’s own MPs.

Sophy Ridge questioned the party leader on one in particular during an interview with Sky News, which will run on Sky News on Sunday at 8.30am.

Journalism in Britain is under threat. The government is becoming increasingly authoritarian and our media is run by a handful of billionaires, most of whom reside overseas and all of them have strong political allegiances and financial motivations.

Our mission is to hold the powerful to account. It is vital that free media is allowed to exist to expose hypocrisy, corruption, wrongdoing and abuse of power. But we can't do it without you.
