An 11-year-old girl is fighting for her life after being mowed down by a car.

The girl, who has not been named, was airlifted to hospital in a “critical” condition following the horror smash in Eltham, south east London, yesterday (TUES) afternoon.

She remains in a “critical” condition.

The man, who was driving the car, stopped at the scene, and is helping police with their inquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who has any dashcam footage to come forward.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Police are investigating a road traffic collision in Eltham which has left an 11-year-old girl in a critical condition.

“Police were called by paramedics at 4.42pm on Tuesday to Westmount Road, at the junction with Elibank Road, following reports of a road traffic collision.
