Dominic Raab returns to Brussels today with the odds against him sealing a Brexit deal before the 29th March 2019 deadline.

Bookies are now 8/11 for a Hard Brexit and the odds on a second referendum on EU membership are shortening drastically too.

It’s now 2/1 from 7/2 for Brits to have a second chance to cast their vote on the country’s future relationship with Europe before the end of 2019, while it’s evens with the leading online bookmaker for Raab and Michel Barnier to hammer out a deal before the end of March.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Britain is coming to the crunch end of the Brexit talks but that doesn’t mean we’re any closer to an agreement.

“Worryingly, both sides are realising a Hard Brexit looks the most likely outcome at 8/11 and the likelihood of new Brexit secretary Dominic Raab achieving something his predecessor didn’t and agreeing a deal has drifted out to evens.

“To add further to the political cauldron in the UK is the increasing probability of a second EU referendum. It seems that we may have to swallow a Hard Brexit or get another vote and the odds of a second referendum have shortened significantly to 2/1 from 7/2.”

Journalism in Britain is under threat. The government is becoming increasingly authoritarian and our media is run by a handful of billionaires, most of whom reside overseas and all of them have strong political allegiances and financial motivations.

Our mission is to hold the powerful to account. It is vital that free media is allowed to exist to expose hypocrisy, corruption, wrongdoing and abuse of power. But we can't do it without you.
