Mothers’ Day is just around the corner, and so it’s time for the confused masses to wrack their brains once again. Chocolates? Flowers? You might know her better than anyone, but buying your Mum a non-contrived, thoughtful present that she actually wants can be a bit of a challenge.

If you ask most women what’s on their wish-list, anti-ageing and looking their best will appear pretty high up. Even when we look after ourselves, the ageing process can take its toll on our skin and appearance – especially for people that run around as much as our poor Mums!

Show Mum that you know how hard she works by giving her a gift she can really pamper herself with, and will leave her looking great from the inside out. Fiona Collins, a cosmetic nurse at Fiona and Marie Aesthetics, London, recommends a skincare package that will leave your Mum looking rejuvenated and refreshed:

“At our clinic, we sell both Environ and Skinceuticals skincare treatments as packages. The reason people are often frustrated by the topical skin products they buy in chemists is that everyone’s skin is different, and the only real way to see a drastic improvement in the quality of the skin is to have a bespoke treatment package that’s tailored for you and your skin type.”

“This is a really popular option for Mothers’ Day – ladies in their fifties, sixties and beyond could have been using the wrong skincare for years. When they’re brought to us for a consultation and we can prescribe something that will really make a difference to them; reduce the signs of ageing on their face and improve their skin quality and appearance, it can give them a new-found confidence. That’s nice to see, both for us and for the people around them – making it a perfect gift choice!”

And if you want to spoil your Mum even more, what about a facial rejuvenation treatment in-clinic to have her looking the best she’s looked in years, in no time?

Different Types of Fire Door

Everything I knew, but needed reminding…

“People love our signature packages,” says Marie Duckett, a cosmetic nurse and co-owner of Fiona and Marie Aesthetics, London. “They’re exclusive to our Harley Street clinic, and they make fabulous presents because they’re short treatments that have speedy and noticeable effects.”

“We understand that not all Mums would be thrilled at the prospect of receiving a round of botulinum toxin injections for Mothers’ Day – let alone the implication! Cosmetic treatments like that are very personal, and usually aren’t appropriate for gifting. But our signature packages are different – they can make women look younger, refreshed and just generally better!”

“Our Happy Mouth treatment addresses the downturned corners of the mouth that often appear on the face as we age, and our Lip Smoothie package hydrates the lips to leave them more youthful and plump (without fillers). And our Skin Boosting package is a general pick-me-up that improves the appearance and texture of the skin on the face, hands or décolletage and can get rid of fine lines and wrinkles. If your Mum worries about the ageing process and the toll it takes on her skin – and let’s face it, who doesn’t – a signature package is a really thoughtful gift that she’ll genuinely appreciate.”

If you’re feeling generous, you could even treat your Mum to a course of Exilis Elite; the facial rejuvenation system enhances collagen production and stimulates cells to tighten the skin, effectively ridding the face of fine lines and wrinkles. Patients can experience a dramatic difference in as little as two treatments.
