The road to recovery could start at R12

Recovering from addiction is never easy. If you also belong to the LGBT+ community, there is a dual vulnerability that needs to be taken into consideration when it comes to how to deal with recovering from your addiction.

Making sure that this perspective is incorporated into the overall treatment plan, when battling with addiction, is really something that can have a deep impact on the success of the treatment. One place that has taken it upon themselves to offer treatment for addiction to anyone who identifies within the LGBT+ community, is R12.

You can read more about their ground-breaking holistic treatments catering to the LGBT+ community, recognising the added vulnerable state of some of their clients here www.r12rehab.com.

The facilities of R12 are located close to Chiang Mai in Thailand making the resort even more appealing. Taking the first step towards a road of recovery is an enormous task. One, that before having made it, will seem too daunting to even contemplate. For people within the LGBT+ community, life has most likely already consisted of several of those moments, making it that much harder. That is why, taking that step together with people that can recognise the hardship of this dual vulnerability might ease the burden.

Groundbreaking treatment

R12 consists of different residential facilities which are fully equipped to provide comfort and security to its residents. The surrounding environment is a combination of lush greens and beautiful forest making it virtually impossible to not be affected by the serene feeling.

At R12, anyone within the LGBT+ community can seek treatment for substance addiction, mental health issues as well as trauma disorders. The treatment programs are tailor made to fit each person’s need and are based on ground-breaking research as well as studies showing that LGBT+ specific treatments have a much higher success rate than generic ones.

For people already in a vulnerable state, it’s imperative for their well-being to be around peers experiencing similar struggles. This culture of support and understanding alongside a professional staff, whom treat each resident with respect and care, are cornerstones of R12’s fundamental philosophy.

R12 also offers the residents access to fitness, health and relaxation facilities as well as opportunities to engage with local cuisines and traditions. The global network of experts available to cater to each resident’s needs are able to meet the high standards set by the parent company of The Cabin, all with the goal of empowering the residents on their road to recovery.

Let the healing begin

To be able to treat for instance addiction or trauma one needs to understand the root causes. This is important for the healing process to begin and to start the road to recovery.

At R12 residents are guided on the path to find their own personal root causes because of their addiction as well as establishing new positive behavioural patterns. To be able to do this alongside peers in the safe haven of the facilities in beautiful Thailand increases the chance of continuing on to lead a healthy and happy life.
