Launched at Milan Fashion Week, CÎROC Vodka has collaborated with Italian fashion house Moschino on a new limited-edition bottle design, plus a global event series spearheaded by Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott.

Alongside the event series in collaboration with fashion influencers including Golden Barbie (aka Jasmine Sanders), River Viiperi, Thando Thabethe, WizKid and Cassper Nyovest, Jeremy Scott’s new bottle design sees CÎROC’s signature blue, here in a pastel shade, wrapped in Moschino’s famous gold chain and dangling letters design. Available to order online through GetitINKD, customers will also be given the opportunity to personalise their CÎROC x Moschino bottle by adding a name or message in a fitting gold design.

On the CÎROC x Moschino collaboration, Jeremy Scott, Moschino creative director, said: “I love the cheeky, playful nature of CÎROC. It connects perfectly with my approach to both life and fashion, so the partnership felt natural; there’s such synergy. I design a lot around personal, customised twists so it’s great to bring this into the partnership too.  It’s been fun to bring together our bold take on luxury and I can’t wait to see what the year holds.”

Natalie Wills, Global Head of CÎROC vodka, added: “The world of luxury is changing and is becoming more accessible, fun and expressive than ever before. We love Jeremy and Moschino’s playful take on fashion and style and felt great synergy with CÎROC. Expect to see customised luxury celebrations like never before as we touch down for some really exciting hotspot events this year!”

Introduced in 2003, CÎROC is an ‘ultra-premium’ vodka distilled in south-west France, using grapes as opposed to grain, potatoes or corn. In turn, the production which uses Mauzac Blanc and Ugni Blanc “snap frost” grapes, means CÎROC is naturally gluten-free, using grapes from the Cognac region, distilled five times by Master Distiller Jean-Sébastien Robicquet at the historic Distillerie de Chevanceaux. The Ugni Blanc’s first four distillations take place in stainless steel column stills, while the Mauzac Blanc grapes are distilled in copper stills. These distillations are then blended (95 per cent Ugni Blanc: 5 per cent Mauzac Blanc) and distilled once more in a traditional Armagnac style copper pot still.

Alongside the classic expression, CÎROC’s portfolio now boasts an entire range of flavoured vodkas, including peach and apple as part of the wider seasonal flavour range. Purists will dispute, but given the spirit’s typically neutral character, CÎROC has successfully dominated a large gap in the market for premium flavoured vodkas. As for the classic expression, the vodka is bright and crystal clear. On the nose, clean, subtle aromas of lemon zest, grass and a sense of grape skins are complete with some delicate sage.

When sipped neat, the vodka has a medicinal quality somewhat typical of grape-based vodkas, vaunting some herbal, liquorice undertones alongside sweet, fruity notes evocative of Alsatian Gewürtztraminer wine. This vinous quality develops with a full body and pleasant earthy character which continues on the palate in addition to some more feint lemon zest, black pepper and a whisper of vanilla.

Most unusually, however, CÎROC vodka is exceptionally smooth without an overwhelming alcohol burn. This smoothness renders the vodka suitable to be sipped neat, or used as the base of classic cocktails such as a dry Martini. Garnish with frozen grapes as a suitably unorthodox twist.

The CÎROC x Moschino collaboration bottle is available from getitinkd.com. RRP £40, 70cl.
