Jeremy Corbyn completely overshadowed acts such as Ed Sheeran and Thom Yorke’s Radiohead as the most talked about act at Glastonbury.

The Labour leader took to the Pyramid stage on Saturday afternoon with Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis CBE to rapturous reception.

Chants of ‘Oh, Jeremy Corbyn’ rang around the prestigious fields, echoing previous concerts the Labour leader has spoken at.

And despite some of the World’s biggest bands performing at the festival, it seems Corbyn has taken the spoils for the most talked about act.

Surprising stats: @JeremyCorbyn got more #Glastonbury2017 related mentions than all of the headliners put together during the festival: pic.twitter.com/iaKYPXwnXi

According to social media data compiled by Brandwatch there was a 56 per cent spike in the number of mentions of Corbyn during and following his rousing speech.

That compares to a spike of just 12 per cent for headliner Ed Sheeran and just 16 per cent for Radiohead.
