A Post Office in Ayrshire inadvertently gave its customers a glimpse of how basic services could be impacted under a No Deal Brexit this weekend.

A sign displayed in the shop advised those posting to the EU that they will now need a Customs Form for all parcels.

The signs were sent out to all branches as a precautionary move in case no deal was reached by 29th March.

The EU exit date has since been postponed to 12th April, so the sign shouldn’t have been displayed.

A spokesperson from the Post Office said: “The sign in question was sent to branches to be used in case of a no deal Brexit scenario on 29th March.

“However, following the EU exit extension to 12th April branches have been reminded that customs forms are not currently required.”

But with just over ten days to find a new deal there is still time yet for such pesky procedures to be brought in.

Tonight parliament will face another round of indicative votes in an attempt to break the Brexit gridlock.

We haven’t even Brexited yet, but already the tedious minor pointless bureaucracy of not being part of the EU has started. Suspect it’ll be the first of many such annoyances. I bet a lot of them will be much more frustrating, time consuming, and, above all, expensive as well. pic.twitter.com/UELNhDR2IV
