Private jet charter company Magnus Aviation has been inundated by enquiries from stranded Wales fans looking to make the Euro2016 semi-final.

Over 200 flights to, from and over France have been cancelled due to the latest air traffic control strike there, meaning some Welsh fans planning to go to tonight’s Euro semi-final match may not make it.

As a result of this, Magnus Aviation, a UK-based private jet charter business, says it’s seeing a growing number of enquiries from fans looking to book a private jet to the tune of £1,489 – £1,611 per person return.

In the past 48 hours Magnus Aviation has received 15 enquiries in the past 48 hours asking for quotes to charter a private jet to Lyon.

James Armstrong, Head of Commercial Development at Magnus Aviation said: “The current air traffic control strike in France has led to many flights there being cancelled, and some Welsh fans wanting to go to the match are beginning to panic. We have received 15 enquiries in the past 48 hours asking for quotes to charter a private jet to Lyon.”

Return commercial flights to Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport from Cardiff Airport currently cost between £700 and £950, but you can no longer book direct flights there. Magnus Aviation says fans can still charter a nine seater private jet for example, with all of its perks such as champagne, an open bar and VIP catering, to take them to Lyon for the match and then back again. The cost of this from Cardiff would be around £14,500 and from Luton it would be approximately £13,400. This equates to £1,611 and £1,489 per person respectively.
