Forty entrants shared the £250,000 Super 6 jackpot this weekend with Soccer Saturday host Jeff Stelling nailing five of the six results, getting only Everton wrong after they failed to beat West Ham.

This is the first time that the jackpot has been landed during the current campaign, with the 40 winners collecting £6,250 for their accurate efforts.

The result echoed a freak haul in January of last season when a remarkable 55 players correctly predicted all six scores after only two people had won the grand prize in previous weeks that season.

On that day only 11 goals were scored in the Saturday fixtures, with only 11 scored in the Premier League matches yesterday.

Last season a whopping £1.2m was given away in the nation’s most popular free-to-play football prediction game.
