Donald Trump has once again falsely claimed that he was at Ground Zero on 9/11.
At an event ahead of the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, Trump appeared to suggest he had been present at Ground Zero on the day of the tragedy and was rescued by two firefighters.
He said: “I’ll never forget two firemen, we thought it was coming down on top of us, and two firemen, big, strong guys. And I’m not the smallest guy in the world. They grabbed me under the arm, said, ‘Got to get out of here.’
“They literally lifted me up. This is not easy to do. I’m big. They lifted me up, and they started running with me. I said, ‘Fellas, I can run myself.’
“But they were amazing. But they thought it was coming down, US steel” he added.
On several occasions over the last ten years, Trump has claimed he was on the scene at Ground Zero on September 11, 2001.

Trump has previously claimed he helped with recovery efforts on the day of the disaster clear and cleared rubble.
However, whilst Trump did visit the site in the days following the attack, there is absolutely no evidence for Trump being present on 9/11 or that he helped with rescue efforts, with PolitiFact, USA Today and Newsweek having all previously debunked his claims.
Many condemned Trump for his latest lies about 9/11, including the press office of California governor Gavin Newsom, which said it was an “absolutely disgusting thing to lie about.”
Others said it was “demented” and that the comments would have been “met with widespread disgust” in normal times.
Trump and the White House have already backtracked on his comments, with the president writing on Truth Social that he was not at the World Trade Center “on the same day as the collapse, but shortly thereafter.”
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said he “was relaying his experience of a city reeling immediately after and in the days and weeks after the horrific attacks.”
