Reform are receiving scrutiny over their crypto billionaire backers even on their usual comfortable home turf of the GB News studio.
Over the weekend, Ben Delo and Christopher Harborne both announced separately that they would be giving £36m each to Nigel Farage’s party.
Delo said his donation would help Reform “prepare for government” and “spend less time trying to raise funds to compete on equal terms.”
Harborne described his donation as a “philanthropic gift to our country”.

The record-breaking donations, which total more than all political donations to parties in 2025, have sparked anger and concern from many worried about the impact of such huge sums flooding into one party.
In particular, many have argued Harborne and Delo will want something in return for their substantial ‘investment’ in Reform, to go alongside the pro-crypto position Farage had already set out.
Reform are predictably framing these concerns as the political and media establishment trying to take them down.
But this doesn’t really hold water when even the most pro-Reform media outlet, GB News, is asking questions about the donations.
On Sunday morning, Robert Jenrick appeared on Camilla Tominey’s GB News show, where he was asked about the donors.
After asking Jenrick about Reform’s policy on crypto, Tominey put it to the Reform MP that he would now feel “under much more pressure to deregulate and push crypto that will benefit these two chaps because they’ve given you £72m.”
When Jenrick denied this, claiming the two previously-overseas based billionaires have donated the money because of their love for Britain, Tominey asked “how it could possibly be the case” that the donations wouldn’t affect Reform policy.
“Nigel Farage has been more open to it [crypto] hasn’t he,” she said.
Jenrick denied he had ever spoken to Harborne or Delo about crypto policy, prompting Tominey to ask if Farage had ever spoken to the pair on this matter.
“I don’t know,” Jenrick replied.
He went on to argue his party – and its £72m in donations from crypto billionaires – was actually on the side of working people.
Tominey pointed out that most working people would “understand something very fundamental about billionaires, that much of their success and their wealth is driven by transaction.”
“Nobody with that amount of money wants to give something for nothing,” she continued. “People watching this and listening aren’t stupid.”
Jenrick compared the donations to the Tories handing out peerages and knighthoods in the past to figures that donated to the party.
“It’s about favourable policy in the future on crypto,” Tominey reiterated, prompting Jenrick to once again claim the donations would have absolutely no impact on their future policy.
