Barack Obama delivered a glorious takedown of Donald Trump after he roasted the president over his White House renovations.
Earlier this week, Obama mocked Trump’s lavish White House renovations during a campaign appearance in Ohio ahead of the US midterm elections.
Taking aim at the president’s gold-heavy decor, Obama joked that Trump had made the White House look like “Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory”.
Rather than letting the jibe pass, Trump and his allies turned it into an argument about Obama’s supposed elitism, accusing the former president of looking down on ordinary Americans who enjoy the popular restaurant chain.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent even visited a Cheesecake Factory in Washington DC to praise its food, taking a swipe at the design of Obama’s presidential centre in the process.

Now, Obama has mocked Trump and his administration for the response to the joke – and how Trump seemingly wasn’t fussed by any of Obama’s more serious accusations about corruption and inflation.
The former president pointed out how insane it is that the Cheesecake Factory jibe was the one that Trump took to heart the most and not the several other criticism’s Obama had of him.
Speaking in Georgia on Wednesday, Obama said: “That was the interesting thing about how the administration responded to the speech I gave the other day.”
Trump had no issue with Obama’s comments that the US government was directly responsible for soaring prices or that it was carrying out “unprecedented levels of corruption.”
“The president wasn’t even mad about the Saddam Hussein comparison,” Obama continued. “That part didn’t bother him. But he was very upset about the Cheesecake Factory comments. He took great umbrage.
“They mobilised a whole of government response to that joke! Not to inflation, but to that joke.
He added: “They even told the Secretary to the Treasury to hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory. This really happened.”
Reacting online, many have been loving Obama’s takedown of Trump.
