Wonderful work from the camera operator here.

Donald Trump seems to have finally completely lost the plot as he waved to a completely empty space.

On Monday, the US president was walking to a helicopter as he travelled to Kansas for a rally supporting Republican candidates in the upcoming midterm elections.

As he was walking across the helipad, Trump paused and stopped, before turning to his left and waving and gesturing.

Watching news footage of the moment, you’d naturally assume he was waving to some sort of crowd of fans and supporters who had gathered.

But, as the camera zoomed out, it revealed that Trump was in fact waving into the abyss to absolutely nobody.

Reacting to the clip on social media, many praised the camera operator for their work, exposing Trump’s insanity.

Trump engaged in a thoughtful, extended conversation with—nothingness. He suddenly stopped, waved, saluted, offered greetings, and chatted for a bit with the empty space. 😁🤭

The cameraman deliberately zoomed out to show that there was absolutely no one to be seen for hundreds… pic.twitter.com/np8Ab6kuS4

Kudos to the camera man. He decided NOPE – ain’t letting him pull this shit. Not today. Not on my watch. pic.twitter.com/Dwv1OoADRE

Meanwhile, others though the footage was further evidence of Trump’s cognitive decline, and wondered what the press reaction would have been if his predecessor Joe Biden had done anything like this.

I now have absolutely no doubt that Donald Trump has major mental decline.

Just think for one minute if Joe Biden had waved into the abyss like Trump just did here. Imagine what Fox News would be saying.

There is absolutely no rational explanation for this that I can see. How… pic.twitter.com/nPrPRMZHW0

Hey guys.

This is normal right? RIGHT??? https://t.co/6ktXGjbq6x

This is really concerning. Yesterday, Trump stopped walking and started waving at nobody as he was boarding Marine One. The camera zooms out and shows nobody is there. His mental decline is getting worse. pic.twitter.com/VrWqZ0rpMB

The bizarre moment comes less than two weeks before Americans go to the polls in some of the most crucial midterm elections of recent memory.

Polls predict ‘historic blue wave’ in US midterm elections

The polls suggest the Republicans are set to lose control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate as a ‘blue wave’ cascades over America.

Trump’s approval rating is at a record low as Americans start to feel the impact of his war in Iran, and Democratic candidates are leading in a number of crucial Senate races.

Should the Democrats win control of both Congress bodies, it would slam the brakes on MAGA 2.0 and effectively leave Trump’s presidency dead in the water.
