Well, this is nothing short of a national embarrassment. Saturday's Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge was marred by sewage.
South, Thames and Wessex water are believed to have released sewage for 3,500 hours across 2022.
River Action chief executive James Wallace made his comments at a Greater London Authority hearing about Thames Water.
“Your water bills are going towards making foreign corporations rich”
Thames Water had no debt when it was privatised by Margaret Thatcher in 1989.
“We’re going to take that money and instead of using it as dividends for shareholders for rich people like you, we’re going to ensure it covers the cost.”
