What to do if you see someone you suspect is a rough sleeper in cold weather

Temperatures are set to drop below zero around the United Kingdom and already we have lost rough sleepers over the past few days.

If you see a rough sleeper, please let them know that there is help on hand as the temperatures plummet dangerously.

If you are concerned about someone sleeping rough in England or Wales you can contact www.streetlink.org.uk, download the free Streetlink app or call Streetlink on 020 7840 4430 and let them know the location and how well the person is so they can get them some help.

In Scotland, you can call the Shelter Scotland helpline on 0808 800 4444 or visit their website.

According to Crisis, the level of homelessness has rocketed with around 9,000 sleeping rough each night in Britain.

So if you see someone that needs help, please let them know of the channels available.
