Seventh cyclist dies on London’s roads in just three months

Police are probing the death of a seventh cyclist in London in just three months.

The man, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision with a lorry in central London this morning (WED).

Police were called at 9.30am to the scene in High Holborn.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.

“The male cyclist, no further details, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Officers are in the process of tracing his next of kin. Road closures remain in place.

“No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.”

A total of 11 cyclists were killed on the capital’s roads in 2017, but there were no fatalities in the first four months of this year.

However, the latest victim is the seventh cyclist to be killed in London since the beginning of May.
