A second suspect charged in connection with a ‘flying kick’ attack on a policewoman that went viral after being caught on camera appeared in court today.

Kursan Euell, 20, indicated not guilty pleas to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on two police officers when he appeared in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court in south west London.

PC John Collins and PC Lorraine McGinty were attacked last Saturday night after stopping a silver BMW in Brixton, south London.

The two officers were taken to a west London hospital after being hurt in the incident. PC McGinty sustained head injuries while PC Collins suffered a fractured rib and cuts. They have both since been discharged.

Euell, of Catford, south east London, wearing a light blue buttoned-up shirt and a pair of glasses, waved and smiled from the dock at two people in the public gallery.

Magistrates sent Euell’s case to the Crown Court.

A bail application on his behalf was rejected and he was remanded in custody until his next hearing at Kingston Crown Court on December 17th.

Martin Payne, 19 , of New Malden, south west London, appeared at the same court earlier this week charged with assault causing ABH and assault on an emergency services worker in connection with the same incident.

Payne was further charged with driving without insurance and driving other than in accordance with a licence. He too has been remanded in custody.
