Joe Lycett has perfect response as chaos engulfs GB News

The rightest of right-wing comedians has stepped up to the plate.

GB News has tried to revive its reputation by getting members of the Conservative Party (many of whom are on the payroll) to speak fondly about them at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester.

Liz Truss and Priti Patel were among party delegates to big-up the news channel during speeches made at the event, with the latter describing it as a “defender of free speech”.

The comments come after GB News was engulfed by a misogyny scandal after Laurence Fox made comments about journalist Ava Evans that he has since been forced to apologise for.

Both Fox and Dan Wootton, who hosted the show, have been suspended amid an internal investigation and a probe by regulator Ofcom, who received around 7,300 complaints about the episode.

Wootton previously apologised “unreservedly” for a “very unfortunate lapse in judgment” in a follow-up post to an earlier apology, which suggested he should have apologised for what was said during the broadcast.

Calvin Robinson has also been sacked in the aftermath of the event.

Taking to social media, Joe Lycett, the rightest of right-wing comedians, had the perfect response to the saga.

Here’s what he had to say:

I have instructed my management to inform @GBNEWS bosses that I am available to replace any of their suspended presenters.

Of course, it’s not the first time Joe’s done this sort of thing:

I’m SICK AND TIRED of hearing from so called ‘comedians’ on political shows!!! These are for serious people like Nigel Farage and Dominic Raab!!! Ben Elton should be ASHAMED and JAILED. https://t.co/RnOhgqYgUi
