Steve Bannon has been removed from his post as White House chief strategist capping off what has been a brutal month for US President Donald Trump.

A statement released by the White House on Friday afternoon confirmed that right-wing personality Bannon had been removed from his position after a highly contentious career at the centre of the Trump administration.

But we mustn’t let Bannon camouflage the procession of departures over the last month as he joins Reince Priebus, Anthony Scaramucci and others on the White House conveyor belt.

It also comes as the President gleans over decisions that would have led to most other leaders being impeached.

This CNN graphic sums it up quite well. Watch and weep.

Since you are here

Since you are here, we wanted to ask for your help.

Journalism in Britain is under threat. The government is becoming increasingly authoritarian and our media is run by a handful of billionaires, most of whom reside overseas and all of them have strong political allegiances and financial motivations.

Our mission is to hold the powerful to account. It is vital that free media is allowed to exist to expose hypocrisy, corruption, wrongdoing and abuse of power. But we can't do it without you.
