Frankonia Bakery Makes Two-Metre Baguette For British Sandwich Week

By Jonathan Hatchman, Food Editor, @TLE_Food

As you may already be aware, Monday (May 11th) marks the start of British Sandwich Week. There are a number of events already set to take place across the five days, but one that’s really caught our attention is the effort from Artesian Bakery Frankonia.

In celebration of British Sandwich Week, the bakery that supplies high-quality bread for a range of the country’s finest chefs and restaurants has created a “Super Sandwich”. Comprised of a whopping two-metre Baguette that’s filled with mouthwatering Pulled Pork, that’s marinated in a secret sauce and hot smoked for six hours and slow cooked for a further six hours, topped with plenty of Coleslaw and some tangy BBQ Sauce.

And what’s even more impressive, the Bakery will be donating this one-off culinary beast to The Soup Kitchen in London, run by the American Church which is located on London’s Tottenham Court Road.
