In the lead up to the unveiling of its most unconventional Christmas scheme to date – ‘Journey To The Stars’ – iconic London department store Selfridges is currently preparing to open the fourth restaurant its series of ‘On the Roof’ pop-ups in association with restaurateur Des McDonald (Q Grill Chalk Farm, Frontier Room at Q Grill, Holborn Dining Room).

Following the success of the most recent Vintage Salt, Forest Restaurant & Cabin Bar is set to take over the store’s roof, opening next week. Inspired by autumn, the restaurant’s comfort food led menu is set to celebrate the wealth of produce that’s foraged from Britain’s vast woodland at this time of year. Set to feature the likes of Windsor Estate mallard on toast and a mulled cider vinaigrette, Wild Highland Roe deer fillet with kale and an elderberry sauce, and truffled mushroom risotto amongst available dishes from Head Chef Chris Dargravel, there will also be an exciting dessert menu from Head Pastry Chef Siobhan Ambrose.

What’s more, The Cabin Bar, situated on the terrace with its own entrance, serving a selection of seasonal ales, mulled wine and cider – and most excitingly – a range of ‘Choctails’, will also join the restaurant. As for the indulgent chocolate-featuring cocktails, the standout signature is the ‘Gingerbread Choctail’ – a concoction of Gingerbread liqueur, rum and hot chocolate.

Forest Restaurant & Cabin Bar is set to open on October 21st and can be found at Selfridges Roof Top, 400 Oxford Street, London, W1A 1AB and is accessible by the Express Lift on the Ground Floor in the Fragrance Hall.
