15ft Structure Erected Outside Home Office Building as Child Refugees Arrive

Construction workers were seen erecting 15ft scaffolding in front of a Home Office building, ahead of the latest arrival of "child refugees" from Calais to London. See NATIONAL story NNMIGRANT. Yesterday another 14 migrants arrived in Croydon, with half asking not to be photographed and many covering their faces with towels. Today, around half a dozen construction workers were seen building a structure which appeared to be the foundations of a screen. A construction firm employee confirmed it was a last minute job, organised this morning. The structure reached around the area where all previous coaches from Calais have stopped outside Lunar House, the Home Office building where migrants are interviewed. The labourers were employed by the firm Phoenix Scaffolding. An employee from the firm, who didn't wish to be named, said: "All I know is that it was a last minute job. "We were called up quite early this morning. "I don't know what it is or who called us." The Home Office has been contacted for a commented.
