A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after police were called to reports of a passenger carrying this enormous knife on the London Underground.

Armed police rushed to Paddington Station where they stopped and searched two teenage boys.

Photos taken by shocked onlookers show British Transport Police handcuffing a male, who is pushed up against a wall, with a huge sword-like knife next to his leg.

And later cops shared a photo of a huge knife – which looks like a hunting machete – which they seized during the sting which happened yesterday (14) at around 4.30pm.

The massive blade – which appears to be at least ten inches in length – has a sharp end with a serrated edge at the base near the handle.

In a tweet, BTP Firearms Unit said: “Great work this afternoon by our team assisted by @BTPDogs for arresting a male after this had popped out of his trousers alongside some illegal substances at Paddington Station.

“Can’t forget the control room for their help too.”

Police said a 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed weapon and for possession with intent to supply.

A British Transport Police spokesperson, said: “BTP officers were called at 4.32pm on 14/02 following a report of a person carrying a concealed knife on board a train heading to Paddington station.

“Officers attended the station and while conducting enquiries stopped and searched two teenage boys. A knife was seized alongside a quantity of drugs.”
