Summer holidays are on and so are your plans for some adventure & fun. A getaway to a place where you can unleash your adventurous part of heart will refresh you to the core.

You, being an adventure lover might have wander places but if you haven’t visited Cancun yet, your checklist will go incomplete.

Cancun is a city in south-eastern Mexico on the northeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. It is renowned as a top destination for “spring break” travellers to North America and is stamped as a Caribbean paradise.

What’s in the store for you!

Cancun embraces every traveller with its wide array of options. There are thrilling outdoor activities, turquoise water serenity, archaeological sites and Mayan ruins for history lovers and a happening nightlife for those who just do not want to waste time sleeping.

Outdoor Adventure Activities

A warm, sunny and place stuffed with natural & manmade wonders, Cancun is truly a pilgrimage for a fan of adventure sports; a quick list of outdoor activities in Cancun would explain what I mean:

  • Water Sports –surfing, jetpacking & more

Imagine yourself soaring above the ocean with a powerful water-propelled jetpack strapped to your back; Aha! That is the jetpacking sport for courageous people like you.

Other than this, board surfing, jet ski, kitesurfingwater sports are always available to be taken on.

  • Scuba Diving&Snorkeling

Homing world’s second largest barrier reef, Cancun is an ideal place for scuba diving and snorkeling. It also has around 6000 Cenotes – a magical natural pit resulted from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath. You can go for snorkelling or just swim in peace in these gorgeous waters. Cenote IkKil, Cenote XKeken, Cenote Samula, Grand Cenote, Cenote Dos Ojos, Cenote Angelita, Cenote Ruta De Los are some of the most recommended Cenotes here.

  • 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours

Big wheeled self-driving bikes and tour jeeps for jungle safari are the best ways to experience what it is like being in nature.

  • Nature & Wildlife

Swimming with dolphins, sharks and turtles underwater is once in a lifetime experience. Sharks visit the place from May to September. So, if you are visiting Cancun for this summer holidays, you can take on this exciting journey.

Xcaret Park is a delightful eco-archaeological park to visit, especially with family. There is so much to see and do – zesty theme parks, the underground river, rocks formations and Mayan cenotes, entertainment, place to see butterflies, parrots, jaguars, marine fossils and flamingos.

Some other activities

Mayan Ruins&Archaeological sites

You shouldn’t leave Cancun without knowing (and virtually experiencing) about Mayan civilization. Visit Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza and Tulum and drown yourself in the fascinating facts about Mayan culture and living. And so that you know, ChichénItzá is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Beeches

Sitting on a coastline of a Cancun beach can be a single most reason to visit this place. It will be sinful to miss seeing the water with vibrant shades of turquoise and the pure white sand.

Under-waterMuseum

MUSA, the world’s most famous underwater sculpture museum is a surreal experience. It holds 470 life-sized statues of sunken cars, houses, and human figures. These sculptures are made of materials that foster coral life.  The sea creatures inhabit and interact with these wondrous underwater exhibits.

Nightlife

Coco Bongo is a live show like no other. Available in Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, this show has everything for a pumping nightlife.

With so much to see and do, you can decide whether you wanted to explore each place independently on your ownor let a Cancun tour takes care of all the planning, leaving just fun, for you.

And oh, did I mention Cancun has been named the second most attractive destination for summer vacations by Trip Advisor, in the year 2016. This might tickle your heart.
