Searches for places to stay on a little-known Greek island have skyrocketed following the Netflix series One Day.

The romantic series, which tells the 20-year will-they-won’t-they love story between two friends, Dexter and Emma, has tugged on viewers’ heartstrings after being released in February.

Set over 14 episodes, scenes were filmed in some of Europe’s most awe-inspiring locations, including Rome, Greece, London and Edinburgh, igniting wanderlust amongst its 5.3 million viewers and counting. 

One location that has particularly sparked interest is the lesser-known Greek island of Paros, where the couple holiday together in episode four.

A small island located in the centre of the Aegean Sea, Paros is often overlooked – but with its white marble quarries and stunning beaches, it’s not one to miss.

In fact, Airbnb data shows that searches made by guests in the UK to Paros, Greece, have increased by almost a third (32 per cent) since the TV series aired.
