The Gold Cup is always a special day in the racing calendar, and this year has been no different.
Coinciding with St Patrick’s day people have turned out in their droves to watch a day of racing that features one of the most prestigious races of the year.
And on a day of the Irish, the luck of the nation has delivered several wins for native horses, jockeys and trainers.
Sizing John took the Gold Cup for trainer Jessica Harrington, coming home a clear-cut winner of jumping’s blue ribbon prize.
