Gossip – Manchester United can’t shift striker but Pogba could be going? Celtic after English winger?

What the papers say

Alexis Sanchez’s £560,000-a-week deal leaves Manchester United struggling to find a buyer for the wantaway star, the Daily Mail reports.

In other Red Devils news, the Daily Star says England centre-back Harry Maguire turned down a £278,000-a-week offer from Manchester City in favour of joining their crosstown rivals.

Manchester United launched an £82million Kalidou Koulibaly bid before signing Harry Maguire, according to reports in The Sun.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was desperate for a dominant centre-back this summer and the Napoli ace, 28, was heavily linked.

Paul Pogba’s brother has confirmed the midfielder wants out of Manchester United before the European transfer deadline.

He told Spanish TV programme El Chiringuito: “Paul wants to go. He can’t do everything at United.

“The player that Zidane is missing is Paul. It’s not impossible for Florentino to sign him.

“I can’t guarantee that Paul will continue at United. Until September 2, anything can happen. Madrid needs the football and joy that Paul brings.”
