On Wednesday morning, Wootton apologised for a “very unfortunate lapse in judgment” in a follow-up post to an earlier apology.
Both GB News and Dan Wootton have apologised over the incident, which was broadcast on GB News on Tuesday night.
"It's takes a lot to shock me, it really does, but this is genuinely, jaw-dropping and awful", one person said on the back of the comments.
Laurence Fox made a series of remarks about Ava Evans, the political correspondent for online news site Joe.
His plea came hours after the Met Police made an announcement about him.
"Their status is propping up a channel that has repeatedly platformed extremist and conspiratorial views," Josiah Mortimer said.
