Donald Trump has issued what is arguably his most pro-Russia statement to date as he continues to side with Vladimir Putin in the war with Ukraine.
Last week, Trump caused shock and anger when he struck a deal with Putin to buy diesel from Russia in an attempt to bring down pump prices in the US ahead of next month’s crucial mid-terms.
The US president also waived strict economic sanctions on Moscow just two days before they were due to come into force.

Along with cosying up to Russia, Trump launched a series of attacks against Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, calling for him to be replaced.
Perhaps most shockingly, it appears the Trump administration placed restrictions on the Starlink internet network, an essential tool in Kyiv’s battlefield missions.
Now, Trump has issued a lengthy statement making clear his pro-Russian stance and going as far as accusing Zelensky of wanting the war in Ukraine to continue.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump argued he made his decisions because: “I don’t want to do anything that will drive, foolishly, Russia away from the bargaining table.”
Incredibly, he admitted that Russia was helping Iran in its war against the US and Israel – and he still didn’t have a bad word to say about Putin.
“Russia is doing very little, if anything, to help the Islamic Republic of Iran, compared to what they could be doing, and I want to keep it that way, and will, unless stupid people get in the way,” Trump wrote.
“Lastly, Zelenskyy is using Diesel Refineries in Russia as a target, knowing that these attacks are seriously hurting the world diesel markets, including those in the United States.
“Farmers, ranchers, and businesses of all kinds are suffering greatly from this, but Russia is, nevertheless, sending, at a low price, millions of barrels of diesel to the World.
“Zelenskyy doesn’t care, and frankly, with all of the money that Europe is famously giving him, and that Crooked Joe Biden gave him in the past, he doesn’t want to end this war, and probably never did. He could have made a better deal two years ago than he can now.
“His country is in shambles, a large portion of his land is lost, his oceans and seas are gone, and his male population is low, wounded, and/or dead. I WANT THIS WAR END!”
Trump’s latest words have sparked condemnation from many, with some labelling it “evil” and “reprehensible.”
Zelensky has openly said that if Trump sides with Russia in the war, Ukraine will have little chance of success.
Zelensky said it would be “unbelievable” and a “tragedy” if the US supports Putin,” adding that this would mean Ukraine “will not prevail and we will not be able to stand.”
He urged Trump to at the very least remain “in the middle” on the matter.
