Rupert Lowe refuses to say if King Charles is a white Briton in shocking interview

Just in case you were in any doubt about just where Lowe and Restore Britain sit on the political spectrum...

Rupert Lowe has refused to say whether King Charles is a “white Briton” in a truly shocking interview.

In recent days, with all the talk of potential electoral pacts or deals between Reform UK and Restore Britain, the party set up by Lowe after he was booted out of Reform, you perhaps would be forgiven for thinking the two parties sit relatively close together on the political spectrum.

But then, you actually listen to Lowe or any Restore representative and realise that they unashamedly represent the extreme-right white nationalist wing of our politics, as they come out with lines that even the most right wing Reform member would find difficult to stomach.

Here is one such occasion.

On Thursday morning, Lowe appeared on Radio 4’s Today programme for an interview, where he was asked by Nick Robinson about his belief that white Britons will be a minority by 2063, a figure taken from a report often quoted by Lowe.

Robinson pointed out to the Great Yarmouth MP that by the definitions used in the report, King Charles would not be classed as a white Briton.

This is because the report, written by Matt ‘MattGPT’ Goodwin, argues a white Briton can only be someone whose parents were both born in the UK. So, because Prince Philip was born in Greece, the king does not fit into this very narrow and quite frankly ludicrous definition.

Robinson therefore asked Lowe whether he subscribes to this outrageous suggestion that King Charles is not a white Briton.

Lowe refused to answer, instead going on a Trumpian rant to Robinson about net zero, media bias and DEI.

As Robinson repeatedly tried to get a simple yes or no answer out of him, Lowe never gave one.

Lowe went on to say he would defund the BBC “very quickly” should he become prime minister, claiming that the broadcaster had become “malign.”

Robinson slammed Lowe in response, saying: “You’re a man with money and a grudge and a social media account who airs his prejudices on X and gets a hearing because you’ve got the backing of Elon Musk.”
