Robert Jenrick asks Reform UK members to stand up if they work, hilariously backfires

This is some of the best comedy you'll see all week.

There was an awkward moment for Robert Jenrick as he gave a speech at a Reform UK rally.

Jenrick was speaking a party event in Plymouth on Tuesday when he decided to try and make a point to prove that Reform are the party of what they like to call ‘alarm clock Britain.’

The only problem was, he seemed to forget the demographic he was speaking to.

The Newark MP told those in attendance: “If you’re a person that works stand up, if you run a business stand up too.”

But for most of the elderly Reform UK members in attendance on a Tuesday afternoon, this didn’t apply to them, with dozens of people awkwardly staying in their seats.

Jenrick had to think quickly, as he continued: “If you’re now drawing your pension, stand up with them.”

Funnily enough, that suddenly got most of the audience to their feet.
