The deputy leader of Reform UK, Richard Tice, is being investigated by the parliamentary standards watchdog, it has been reported.
The news of the investigation was confirmed this morning by the parliamentary commissioner for standards.
It is reported that the MP for Boston and Skegness is being investigated for failing to declare an interest when talking about Israel in a Westminster Hall debate.
Tice spoke in a Commons debate on June 22 about Israeli influence but did not mention that he had been on a trip to Israel in September 2025, funded by a pro-Israel lobbying group.
The trip has been listed in Richard Tice’s Declaration of Members’ Interests.
The Parliament code of conduct states the MPs can refer to their entry in the register of interests but adds: “Such a reference will not suffice on its own, as the declaration must provide sufficient information to convey the nature of the interest without the listener or the reader having to have recourse to the Register or other publication.”
According to the commissioner’s website, the investigation was opened last Tuesday (28 July).
Tice is the latest member of Reform UK to face an investigation by the parliamentary watchdog after the party’s leader Nigel Farage was subject to one over ‘gifts’ he had received before becoming MP for clacton.
That investigation led to Farage jumping before he was pushed and resigning as Clacton MP only to announce he would then stand again in the upcoming by-election.
By resigning, the investigation into Farage was suspended, but it is set to resume should he be re-elected to parliament.
