When we went to the polls in June they didn’t tell us about Marmite, did they?

The NHS was high on the agenda, the eb and flow of people across borders was a particular focal issue and red tape in Brussels divided the nation, but it has been a sticky, brown food paste that has made the headlines post-Brexit.

Marmite, in all its gooey simplicity, has driven the effect of the vote home for Brits, with Tesco going to war with Unilever over price hikes and Morrisons this week caving in and sticking 12.5 per cent on the price – putting the cost of a 250g pot of Marmite at £2.64!

With the world’s largest consumer goods manufacturer leading the way in costing-up their products to shield against the weaker pound, we look at how your shopping trolley is likely to be immediately affected following the vote to leave the EU.

The Ten We Can’t Live Without

Many of Unilever’s Billion-euro brands, which are defined as brands that have annual sales of one billion euros or more, are among the most-recognised brands we’ll miss the most. How will blokes live with potential price hikes on Lynx? How will women cope with every-day Dove items costing more? And how will we ever recover from the cost of Ben & Jerry’s and Magnum’s going through the roof?

Here’s the top ten:
