Video – Police hunting thugs who battered another man in one of London’s most exclusive private members’ clubs

A man was left with a broken nose and eye socket after being battered inside one of London’s most exclusive private members clubs.

City of London Police has released CCTV footage of the vicious late night brawl at The Ned which left a man with a broken eye socket and nose.

It shows a young man viciously punching another man before security step in the Ned’s Club Downstairs – accessible only to private members of the five star hotel.

The assault happened just months after The Ned opened, boasting 250 bedrooms and ten restaurants on the site of the former Midland Bank last May.

The attacker was shown viciously punching a man in the face in the hotel’s cocktail bar – which is in the former bank’s strongroom.

The club is only open to members paying £3,150-a-year membership with a one-off £1,000 joining fee.

The all-night 1920s and 1930s-themed cocktail bar room is set behind a huge 20-tonne, two-metre wide vault door and lined with thousands of original safety deposit boxes.

A young white male, dressed on a dark shirt, can be seen brutally punching another man in the face then swinging at another before security step in at the £200m members’ hotel.

Police who questioned and released a 21-year-old man in connection with the assault have since released the footage in an appeal for the attacker to come forward.

A City of London spokesman said: “Police have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a violent assault at The Ned at 11pm on July 25.

“The assault left the male victim with serious injuries, including a fractured eye socket, a fractured nose, displacement of the eyeball, and severe bruising.

“A man, 21, from Loughton, Essex, was arrested on the night and has since been released under investigation. Officers would now like to speak to the man in the CCTV footage to further their enquiries.”

The hotel, in the Bank area of the City of London, also boasts a range of grooming services as well as its members’ social and fitness club where they have access to a rooftop pool, gym, spa, hammam, and the late-night lounge bar.

Ned’s Club Upstairs has a heated pool overlooking the London skyline and two converted domes with outdoor terraces for eating and drinking.

The Roof Bar features a retractable roof and heaters, and offers views of the City and St Paul’s Cathedral, with an international menu prepared on the rotisserie grill and wood oven.
