Get him out of here! Nigel Farage lined-up for £1m ‘I’m A Celebrity’ appearance

Fairly soon, we could be watching Nigel Farage eating kangaroo testicles on ITV, with 'I'm A Celebrity' bosses eyeing up a coup.

Nigel Farage is reportedly on course to swap the GB News studio for the Australian jungle, after it was claimed that the divisive politician and broadcaster is set to appear in the ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’ reality show on ITV.

Is Nigel Farage going on I’m A Celebrity?

Details reported by The Sun suggest that Mr. Farage could be in line for a massive windfall, as well. It’s understood that ITV have tabled a million-pound offer to get him to sign-up, and there are indications that the deal is as good as done.

The popular programme pits celebrities against the elements. Famous faces are required to each items such as kangaroo testicles and fermented eggs, whereas some ‘Bushtucker Trials’ feature creepy-crawlies in close quarters.

Politicians and reality TV – a growing trend

Last year, the former Health Secretary Matt Hancock caused a stir by accepting a six-figure fee to appear on the show. He was subjected to a series of gruelling challenges, eventually finishing third. His political career remains stuck in the wilderness.

Nigel Farage will be hoping that appearing on the programme has the opposite effect for him – given his reported future ambitions to become the eventual leader of the Conservative Party. Should he emerge victorious, it will give him a mainstream platform to build from.

How much will Nigel Farage receive for appearing on I’m A Celebrity?

The rumoured fee, a flat £1 million, would be the highest ever offer made for a contestant. Insiders are quoted as saying that ITV, and hosts Ant & Dec, are keen to get Nigel Farage on-board, as he is guaranteed to ‘boost the viewing figures’.

It’s understandable. There a lot of people out there who’d pay good money to watch Farage wretch his guts up…
