The BBC is remaining tight-lipped about an upcoming Panorama special set to air next week.

An announcement put out by TV Zone shows the investigative documentary series is scheduled to air on Monday October 2nd at 9pm, but doesn’t disclose details of what it will cover.

The broadcaster would typically list episode information and a title ahead of the air date on its website and TV listings but has not done so for this feature.

The secretive steps suggest the Panorama episode could contain explosive allegations, like the recent Dispatches episode that accused Russell Brand of emotional abuse, sexual assault and rape.

Channel 4 did not release information about the 90-minute-long episode before it aired, although Brand pre-emptively issued a video statement during which he revealed ‘very serious allegations’ were being made against him and ‘absolutely’ denied them.

Following the joint investigation between The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches into Brand, the Met police confirmed it is investigating multiple sex offence allegations.

On Monday, the force said it had received a ‘number of allegations of sexual offences in London’ as well as elsewhere in the country, adding they were all non-recent and no arrests had been made.

The force said it will be offering specialist support to all of the women who have made allegations.
