With Christmas just a few days away & New Year peeking its head around the corner, the end of December can be a truly magical time to get married. Whether you dream of a white, winter wedding, or a glamorous New Year’s Eve gala, here are our tips for the perfect big day.

A Christmas wedding guarantees that extra sparkle that only comes at this time of year. With churches, hotels and other venues already decorated for the festive period, Christmas can be great for those who want all the glitz, without the long nights planning. It’s also a great time to take advantage of the weather–ideally abroad as the prospect of snow in the UK over Christmas is, as we all know, often slim to none! Look into unusual venues such as the Ice Hotel in Sweden, or book an Alpine chalet complete with Last Christmas cosy charm.

With the snowy backdrop as your starting point, keep your colour scheme simple and chic; pale blues and silvers look incredible against the snow, and a cashmere wrap or faux fur coat is guaranteed to add glamour (and warmth!) to your bridal look. Cosy on up together and enjoy a day that neither you, nor your guests, will ever forget.

If the excitement of New Year’s Eve is more your thing, indulge yourself and your guests with a glamorous 1920s-inspired event. With champagne flowing and fireworks exploding, New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to celebrate and see the new year in as man and wife.

The 1920s theme lends itself particularly well to a New Year’s wedding, as it has all the glitz with just the right amount of decadence to make your day, and night, unforgettable. Look for a vintage, or 1920s inspired, wedding gown with a simple veil to start your bridal look. For gents, a tux is a great go-to: inkeeping with the theme but also incredibly elegant. Bridesmaids look stunning in a 20s-inspired flapper style dress–perfect for dancing the night away! With a live band to accompany your evening, welcome in the new year together with all your nearest and dearest.
