Second teenager stabbed to death in London in just three days

A second teenager has been knifed to death in London in just three days.

The 18-year-old victim was fatally stabbed in Lee, south east London, just three miles from where Aron Warren, also 18, was murdered in Greenwich on Saturday night.

Police were called to Alwold Crescent in Lee just before 10pm last night (TUES) to reports of “armed youths” in the street.

A shirt while later two youths, both believed to be 18, turned up at a south London hospital with “serious” stab injuries.

One died in hospital, the other has since been discharged.

The victim, who has not been named, was the 24th teenager to be murdered in the capital this year, and the 26th in the last 12 months.

Five people have been arrested in connection with the latest murder. They remain in police custody.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: “Police were called at 9.51pm to Alwold Crescent, Lee, following reports of armed youths in the street.

“Officers attended. A short while later two males, both believed to be aged 18, attended a south London hospital with serious stab injuries.

“The first male died in hospital. His next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem will be held in due course. Formal identification awaits.

“The second male was treated in hospital but has since been discharged.

“Five people have been arrested by police in connection with this murder. All have been taken to south London police stations for questioning.”

She added: “Crime scenes remain in place.

“Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command and police in Greenwich continue to deal.

“Anyone with information concerning this fatal attack is asked to call police.”

Aron Warren, 18, was found with fatal wounds at a flat in Greenwich, south east London, last Saturday night following reports of a stabbing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “While we continue to work to piece together the events that led to Aron’s murder, I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Topham House in Prior Street from around 9:15pm on Saturday to contact police.

“We believe Aron was attacked inside the flat where he was residing in Topham House so I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who let someone into the building prior to the murder or who saw anyone fleeing the scene.”

A 17-year-old lad arrested in connection with Aron’s murder has since been released, and police say he will face no further action.
