Beer of the Week – Oddbins No 5

By Jonathan Hatchman, Food Editor, @TLE_Food

Strength: 4.8% ABV

Brewed: Southfields, London

Arriving just in time for the summer, Oddbins has teamed up with London-based Rocky Head Brewery, set up by Ex Oddbins Buying Director Steve Daniel and a group of friends as a micro-brewery, marking the latest instalment in Wine, Beer and Spirits merchant’s range of collaboration artisan craft Beers.

This time around, Oddbins No 5 is a tasty Saison that offers aromas of Orange Zest and Grapefruit with a particularly hoppy taste. Brewed using Abbeye Belgian Yeast, a nod towards the Saison Beers traditionally brewed in Belgium – the result is both thirst quenching and easily drinkable, filled with exotic flavours including the Mandarin Zest and Passion Fruit Pulp of which are both added during the brewing process.

Oddbins No 5 is available to buy at Oddbins’ stores across the UK and online at oddbins.com, retailing at £2.80 per bottle.
