Good grief, look at that line-up.

After riding the hype – and subsequent hate – of a meteoric rise in the early noughties with Ascendancy, Trivium have, through sheer perseverance and talent, found themselves settled at the top of the pile once again, this time as elder statesmen of metal. This is no more apparent than on this later tour where Matt Heafy’s crew have enough clout to bring with them some of the freshest acts in modern metal as support.

Honestly, again, that line-up. It’s worth a second look. From the progressive all-out assault of Venom Prison, the faithful thrash throwback (say that fast) of Power Trip or the stylised grind and bark of Code Orange, this is already one of the gigs of the year before the headliners have stepped a foot on stage.

TLE tog Richard Broome was there to bear witness to the fury this mix of returning legends and new blood were able to incite.
