Today Mr Trump criticised much of the UN’s work including; the Iran deal, the human rights council, the international criminal court, OPEC, multilateral trade agreements, migration compacts and foreign aid arrangements.

His speech seemed to be playing to a domestic political audience, rather than to the rest of the world.

Donald Trump’s second-ever address to the UN was then met with laughter by the audience.

He said: “One year ago I stood before you for the first time in this grand hall. I addressed the threats facing our world, and I presented a vision to achieve a brighter future for all of humanity.”

“Today I stand before the United Nations General Assembly to share the extraordinary progress we’ve made.

“In less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country,” Mr Trump continued, which was met with laughter in the room.” America’s… So true”.

Mr Trump smirked at the crowd’s reaction. “I didn’t expect that reaction but that’s okay,” he said.
