Watch: The 47 Second Flight That Has Carried 1 Million Passengers

This is the 47 second flight that this week carried its one millionth passenger.

The short hop, which is officially the world’s shortest commercial flight, ferries passengers between Westray and Papa Westray in the Orkney islands, off mainland Scotland’s northeast coast.

It’s a short 1.7 mile trip all told which is navigated in an eight-seater Britten Norman Islander aircraft.

It officially  takes two minutes but with favourable winds it can be done in 47 seconds.
