The luxury hotel and wellness brand known for its spectacular locations and award-winning spas is set to double in size in the next three years.

2015 resort openings are set for the Seychelles, Chengdu, China and Douro Valley, Portugal.

Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas are discovered in some of the world’s most pristine and untouched settings.  Whether it’s a resort on a remote island or a Six Senses Spa in a colourful urban setting, the group is renowned for its unique and diverse design personality whilst each property is supported by a leadership commitment to community, sustainability and wellness.  Six Senses resorts are located in Oman, the Maldives, Thailand and Vietnam.

Six Senses launched in 1995 and was immediately recognised as a pioneer of sustainable practices with a total commitment to local communities and ecosystems. Today the hospitality management company comprises nine operating resorts and 27 spas.  Now owned by Pegasus Capital with Chief Executive Officer Neil Jacobs at the helm, the group is set to double in size in the next three years with resort openings scheduled for the Seychelles, Portugal, China, Bhutan and Indonesia.

Whilst being part of the local fabric and culture, Six Senses is very much in tune with the wider world and each property is defined by its location and pioneering wellbeing agenda. VIETNAM

              SIX SENSES NINH VAN BAY, Central Vietnamese Coast

Recently voted the property with the ‘World’s Sexiest Bedroom’ by Mr and Mrs Smith, this Six Senses resort is a spectacular beach property situated on secluded Ninh Van Bay on the beautiful central Vietnamese coastline. The impressive and dramatic rock formations of the bay overlook the South China Sea and the resort nestles into the mountainous hillside above the white sand beach. The 59 luxury private pool villas have all been built to blend in with the natural environment and are designed either on the beach, over the water or into some of the amazing rock formations. All come with their own Guest Experience Manager (GEM) and are elegantly appointed with rustic natural woods and neutral fabrics. Delicious cuisine is served at the poolside, by the bay or on the rocks and there’s an excellent cookery school in the organic garden for those that really want to learn how to cook Vietnam style.  There is even a well-stocked wine cave for tastings and dinners.  Six Senses Spa at Ninh Van Bay offers traditional Vietnamese treatments and Six Senses Yogic Wellness Journeys to suit every guest. There is also a yoga pavilion, gymnasium, hair salon and spa retail gallery and new outdoor jungle-gym training circuit. In addition to blissful relaxation, guests can also enjoy many activities and excursions on or under the water, at the coral house reef, on land by joining a cultural or wildlife adventure, or making use of the resort’s facilities and wide variety of sporting equipment. The resort is also a perfect setting for memorable wedding ceremonies.  In January 2015 a new three-bedroom reserve villa will launch on the hillside with spectacular views of the bay below.

               SIX SENSES CON DAO, Con Dao Archipelago

Just a short flight from the bustling streets of Saigon lies this unique oasis on an island in the Con Dao Archipelago, an area of outstanding natural beauty steeped in history. The 16 islands are part of a national and marine park and the resort is the first five-star resort in the archipelagoNestled on a curve of white sand on the island of Con Son, looking out over the glistening South China Sea it is contemporary in design, comprising 50 private pool villas and reflecting the essence of a traditional fishing village. Protected by lush, forest-clad mountains on a mile-long stretch of sand, each private pool villa is designed to reflect the breathtaking natural surroundings. This beautiful area has been a designated nature and marine reserve for decades and its unspoilt beauty is home to many endangered and indigenous species. Each villa is carefully designed using timber frames and natural materials with fantastic views out to sea. The food here is superb – Vietnamese at the Market presents traditional local recipes, while Deli’cious gives the choice of eat-in or take away. By the Beach offers panoramic ocean views and gentle sea breezes, specializing in locally caught seafood. The Six Senses Spa at Con Dao is set with the dramatic backdrop of the Lo Voi Mountains and offers four indoor treatment rooms, one Thai therapy room, three outdoor treatment salas, and an outdoor pavilion. Yogic wellness journeys draw-in health-conscious guests. The Experiences Team is always on hand with a host of activities for all ages. The property also has a wide range of activities on offer. Take an early morning visit to a traditional Vietnamese market before trying your hand at a cooking class, visit a nearby turtle hatchery and take advantage of the range of watersports on offer, from sunset cruises to fantastic scuba diving. The island has an incredibly historic past, dating right the way from the days when the East India Company and Portuguese merchants frequented the island through to the French colonial era and on to the Vietnam War.

THAILAND

               SIX SENSES YAO NOI, Phang Nga Bay, Yao Noi Island

Simplicity and natural beauty is at the heart of this stunning resort on the unspoilt island of Yao Noi. Located beyond Phuket approximately 40 minutes by speedboat from the mainland in the truly stunning Phang Nga Bay, there’s a pure sense of privacy and adventure in this resort. 55 elevated Pool Villas offer superb space and privacy and a variety of awesome views. Sea View villas offer glorious vistas over Phang Nga Bay, while Mountain View villas face a plantation of rubber trees and tropical forest. Natural materials used in the modern architecture, together with excellent personal service, support the Six Senses philosophy of creating exceptional experiences.  There are dining options aplenty at Six Senses Yao Noi, with several restaurants and bars and an international wine cellar. The Dining Room offers European organic cuisine and features a glass floor with a creek beneath as well as organic gardens framing the space. The Living Room presents Thai and world cuisine, plus a pizza oven, while The Hilltopoffers Asian influenced set dinners and light lunches.  The Six Senses Spa village is nestled into the lush hillside.                SIX SENSES SAMUI, Koh Samui

Six Senses Samui is set on a headland with glorious panoramas out to the Gulf of Thailand. The 66-villa resort, many with private pools, is just a 45 minute flight south of Bangkok. The resort serves some of the best food on the island, offering regional and international cuisine and a wine cellar. The Six Senses Spa delivers a comprehensive menu of treatments together with spectacular views across a rock-fringed bay. Treatments take place in either air-conditioned individual villas or with tropical sea breezes in private salas with spectacular views across a rock-fringed bay to the Gulf of Thailand.

OMAN           

               SIX SENSES ZIGHY BAY, Northern Musandam Peninsula

Considered one of the finest resorts in the Middle East, Six Senses Zighy Bay is located on the northern Musandam Peninsula in the Sultanate of Oman. MALDIVES

SIX SENSES LAAMU, Southern Laamu Atoll

Six Senses Laamu is the only resort in the Maldives’ beautiful southern Laamu Atoll and has recently undergone a major refurbishment to many parts of the resort. Just an inter-island plane trip from Malé and a short boat ride brings guests to a palm-fringed paradise with 96 sustainable villa accommodations set over the lagoon and on the island. Yin Yang, one of the most famous surfing waves in Maldives, breaks just offshore. There are also beginner’s waves for guests wanting to experience the sport. Dolphins swim along the shores of Six Senses Laamu, where guests snorkel in the coral-rich house reef among Oriental Sweetlips, Parrotfish and Green Turtles. The chefs from East and West prepare delicious dishes, many created from produce grown in the island’s organic gardens. The sea breeze drifts among the rustic woods while memorable menus offered at each venue are enhanced by tropical vistas, from inspiring equatorial sunrises to romantic sunsets that dissolve into the evening sea. Set on the beach, the Six Senses Spa is surrounded by the island’s natural vegetation. Highly skilled Six Senses Spa therapists and visiting practitioners use natural products to provide a comprehensive range of award-winning signature treatments, rejuvenation and wellness specialties of the region and specialized holistic treatments.  In late 2014 the resort unveiled enhanced villa designs, a new main swimming pool and a sixth dining outlet.  Ten Laamu Water Villas, three Ocean Beach Villas and three Lagoon Beach Villas now feature a 194 square feet (18 square meters) private plunge pool. Four Family Beach Villas now include private swimming pools and an extra bedroom specially designed for children.  An impressive new ocean view 7,858 square feet (730 square meters) Beach Villa with two bedrooms and a pool has been added to the inventory which is ideal for large families or friends traveling together. The new dining outlet, Sip Sip with its dramatic sunken bar and adjacent poolside seating, emerges from the new 7,535 square feet (700 square meters) swimming pool and offers guests a great casual all day dining alternative.  Six Senses Laamu resident DJ rotates between Sip Sip to Chill Bar, creating a relaxed atmosphere by the pool with ambient and lounge tunes. 

SEYCHELLES

SIX SENSES ZIL PASYON, Félicité Island – Opening Summer 2015

Scheduled to open in 2015, the Six Senses Zil Pasyon is located on the private island of Félicité. Approximately 30 nautical miles (55 kilometers) northeast of Mahe, the resort is accessible by helicopter from the International Airport or a short boat ride from neighbouring La Digue and Praslin islands. Situated on north side of the island, Six Senses Zil Pasyon will occupy less than one third of the total land, a sanctuary within a natural environment as the island features prolific indigenous and abundant flora and fauna. Comprising of 28 one-bedroom villas, two two-bedroom villas and 17 private residences, all with private pools. The resort has been designed by Richard Hywel Evans of Studio RHE, who has created an oasis of serenity encircled by the Indian Ocean, while Six Senses will oversee the interior design. The resort will include two restaurants, a bar, boutiques, a recreation center and Six Senses Spa in addition to a well-appointed gym and swimming pool. Félicité is one of the most dramatically beautiful isles in the 115-island nation featuring massive granite boulders that fringe the shoreline and create an air of drama and mystery. Measuring 652 acres (264 hectares), the resort will create a very personal destination that embraces nature whilst offering every creature comfort.

PORTUGAL

SIX SENSES DOURO VALLEY – Opening Summer 2015

Scheduled to open in Summer 2015, Six Senses Douro Valley is set in Portugal’s enchanting UNESCO World Heritage area and will be the first Six Senses resort in Europe. Touched with the romance of 19th century architecture wedded with contemporary interiors, the resort covers 19 acres and features 71 guest rooms and suites with one, two and three bedrooms.  It has been designed by Clodagh Design, a leading design agency based in New York. The landscaping is full of vine filled terraces and the River Douro winding its way to the Atlantic Coast passing through the oldest wine producing region in the world. There will be an interactive and instructional Wine Academy showcasing leading vintages from the area and the chance to meet leading Portuguese winemakers.  In addition, an expansive Six Senses Spa with 10 treatment rooms and heated indoor and outdoor pools will offer Six Senses specialities and locally inspired treatments – some wine based – plus multi-day packages as well as the group’s popular Yogic Programmes. The resort is just 20 miles from Vila Real Airport and 88 miles from Oporto.

CHINA

               SIX SENSES QING CHENG MOUNTAIN, CHENGDU – Opening Summer 2015

Opening May 2015 in the picturesque gateway to the majestic Qing Cheng Mountain, the resort has been created to complement the nearby Dujiangyan UNESCO World Heritage & Natural Cultural site. Drawing upon the renowned Six Senses perspective of responsible luxury, the resort has been designed to incorporate regional architecture and landscaping. The resorts 113 suites will incorporate Chinese inspired contemporary furniture and finishes are constructed from sustainable timber and a palette of natural tones. Five two-bedroom villas will also be available, ideal for families and groups of friends. The resort will also house a Six Senses Spa amidst a beautiful garden of willows and bamboo, offering locally-inspired specialty treatments. A large main swimming pool is set amongst the beautiful mountain landscape, with a large indoor heated pool also available year round, and state-of-the-art gym facilities and a Children’s Club are also available. Guests will be able to experience the flavours and specialties of Sichuan province, with informal all-day dining options showcasing classic and contemporary Chinese cuisine, while The Chinese Tea Lounge will offer an impressive selection of local teas. Local attractions include the newly developed Panda  Valley is a short ten-minute drive from the resort, offering guests the rare chance to view and interact with adorable panda bears and cubs.

BHUTAN

SIX SENSES THIMPHU, PUNAKHA, GANGTEY, BUMTHANG & PARO – Opening Spring 2016

Allowing guests to experience the ultimate circuit experience, Six Senses five very unique properties will have a total of just 82 guest suites. The spa concept for this development is based on the Bhutanese philosophy of Gross National Happiness (GNH) and aims to take guests on a journey towards happiness through experiences and education about the key elements of GNH.

INDONESIA             

               SIX SENSES ULUWATU, BALI – Opening late 2016

Spectacularly located on the cliff top at the southern tip of the island, the 120 suite and villa resort will be an integration of Balinese cultural expressions through design.  Surrounded by a 6,000 square metre (65,000 sqft) garden, it’s just 45 minutes fro Denpasar International Airport.
